Chelsea Hornick-Becker is the Director of Operations for JustLeadershipUSA (JLUSA). She is an activist first and operations professional second. Throughout her career she has contributed to various social change sectors doing what she does best – finding systems for organizations to operate in the most efficient and impactful ways. Prior to joining JLUSA, Chelsea worked in operations for an international digital organizing and advocacy platform, and helped build two charter schools in New York specifically designed to serve previously incarcerated youth. Chelsea has a B.A in Peace & Conflict Studies and an M.A. in African Peace & Conflict Studies. During her academic years she focused her research on methods for transitional and restorative justice post-conflict. Her passion for restorative justice has led her to work on the post-recommendations for the first official Truth and Reconciliation Commission in the U.S. and to implement a restorative justice curriculum for students. She is also a trained and practiced mediator.
